TMJ is a complex syndrome involving the jaw joints, the jaw joint cartilages, the muscles of mastication, nerves and upper cervical muscles and vertebra.  Treatment can and often does require the expertise of many interdisciplinary specialties for maximum medical improvement (MMI).

Chiropractic medicine can help with cervical issues, posture realignment, massage and biofeedback.  Chiropractors can balance the posture muscles and correct spinal misalignment but they often require the help of neuromuscular massage therapist and dentists for stabilization and additional therapy.

No one specialty is able to completely satisfy all the needs of this complex syndrome.

If you are experiencing problems with your jaw, in most cases help is available to alleviate your symptoms by calling your chiropractor and your dentist.
